About the role
Education Development Trust are looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager to lead and manage the monitoring, research and learning activities for the implementation of our exciting new education and skills programme in Ethiopia. The programme will strengthen the relevance and quality of secondary education to ensure the successful transition of secondary students to tertiary education or the world of work by equipping them with relevant skills, knowledge and attitude through enhanced implementation of the competency-based curriculum.
The MEAL Manager’s role is to lead and manage the monitoring, research and learning activities related to the implementation of the programme. This will include developing and updating the MEL strategy, operating the day-to-day monitoring of the implementation and ensuring that the outputs for the components are met and that impact is achieved. The role will entail extensive collaboration with both central and regional teams to improve data collection, data management, analysis, monitoring, evaluation and research, all of which underpin the successful delivery of the programme.
Key qualifications
- Management experience in monitoring and evaluation of development programmes
- Experience of designing, managing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems on large-scale national level programmes
- Experience of working with data platforms, databases and other technologies to capture, organise and analyse data
- Experience with statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, STATA Atlas.ti or NVivo) and familiarity with IT applications to support MEAL, visualization and information management
- Experience of M&E reporting for Mastercard Foundation
