Floresta Ethiopia is non- governmental organization based in San Diego CA, USA, whose mission is to reverse poverty and deforestation by transforming the lives of rural poor.

NOW Floresta Ethiopia is implementing different developmental societal activities to improved economic empowerment and environmental restoration in Andabet woreda, amhara region, Ethiopia. On top of its expansion for a certain planning years, the program, Floresta Ethiopia would like to invite competent candidates who fulfill the requirement of the indicated different vacant positions listed below.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will have the following duties and responsibilities
  • Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
  • Monitor all program activities, expenditures and progress toward achieving the project output
  • Recommend further improvement of the logical frame work
  • Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success
  • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results
  • Monitor the sustainability of the project’s results
  • Provide feedback to the Project Manager on project strategies and activities
  • Suggest strategies to the Program Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the program by identifying bottlenecks in completing program activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the Program Manager
  • Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the program
  • Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to Program Management Team
  • Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Program Manager in preparing relevant reports
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the program
  • Assist in coordinating across the available components of the Program to ensure effective implementation of M&E
  • Assist the program personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use
  • Assist the Program Manager in preparing other relevant reports
  • Organize and conduct training on M&E tools for program and government staff
  • Assist Program Manager in the preparation of reports on the findings and lessons learned from program innovations
  • Provide input and update information related to program outcome in the program tools and catalogs
  • Assist Program Manager in preparing monthly and quarterly reports on program progress based on M and E reports on program activities
  • Prepare Issues Log and Risk Log for the program
  • Develop M&E system for the Program and for the government counterpart/stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain data base and Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Competencies

  • Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of Floresta Ethiopia as well as the PWP

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral): Sensitivity to and responsiveness to all partners, Respectful and helpful relations with donors and project staff.
  • Ability to lead implementation of new systems (business side), and affect staff behavioral/ attitudinal change

Qualifications

  • BSc/BA/MSC/MA University Degree preferably in Natural Resource management, Environmental Protection, Biodiversity conservation, Forestry, Economics, Disaster and Risk management, Agricultural Economics and Project planning and management, Management, Development Economics and Rural Development 6/2 year and above relevant experience
  • Experience in NGOs in Ethiopia is more preferable.
