Department/Program: HHA (Healthy Heart Africa)

Level: C2

Reports to: Project/Program Manager

Based in: Addis Ababa

Duration of contract: Indefinite based on performance and availability of funds.

Remuneration: As per organization pay scale plus other PSI/Ethiopia staff benefits.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 Under the supervision of the project Manager, s/he will:

  • Provide technical support on quality data-capturing and transmission at regional and sub regional levels
  • Oversee the use of data for decision making
  • Ensure complete, timely and accurate submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to MOH, regional health bureaus, sub city/town health offices and donor
  • Conduct regular data quality assurance (DQA) activities and ensure PSI data protection policy is in place and cascaded for those who access individual level data
  • Identify, document, and share lessons on data quality and use
  • Identify gaps and plan and execute capacity building activities around data quality and use
  • Provide project coordination and mentoring support to the public health facilities and community-based intervention.
  • Ensure that each sites have a designated focal person for NCD (specially for HTN) and their involvement on the MDT team
  • Plan and organize training, Joint supportive supervisions and review meetings to health facilities staff and Health Extension Professionals (HEP)
  • Manage the site set- up, delivery and reporting of community and facility-based screening activities
  • Ensure quality health service delivery according to Ministry of Health (MoH) guideline and protocol
  • Ensure focal person and other key site staff are fully informed about program, performance, and improvement plans.
  • Ensure the availability of Education and awareness materials, M&E tools at the sites
  • Conduct training, review meeting and periodic joint s supportive supervision with MOH, regional health bureaus and town/sub city health office and Participate on the site MDT team meetings
  • Co-lead the joint planning of HTN related activities to the public health facilities with the regional Health bureaus
  • Participate on national and regional technical working groups
  • Represent the project manager in her/his absence

Job Requirements

Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or related field.
  • Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in similar health areas where a combination of demand creation and service provision capacity building is required to bring change.
  • Have demonstrated experience in mentoring and supporting public health facilities, both on creating awareness around specific diseases and ensuring that supplies are consistently available.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative M&E data collection and analysis methods, including tracking outcome indicators
  • Experience in program quality management and operational research
  • Experience in M&E and data quality management related to health programs
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in data-capturing and reporting
