This position can be based in any of our WRI offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, India, Indonesia, or China. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position. 


About the Program:

WRI’s Global Operations Team (GOT) ensures that the global strategy and network is effective with empowered country offices that share WRI’s mission, values, and approach. It ensures efficiency of operations, and consistency of values and practices throughout the WRI network. This includes ensuring consistently high standards of financial, fiduciary, administrative, and human resource management, sound risk assessment and controls for existing and new offices, and the development of a sustainable financing model for individual offices and for the network as a whole.

Job Highlight:

In this role, you will support the Global Operations Team in implementing our strategy. You are someone who is seeking to work in a multi-functional role including, operations, HR, Information technology, legal and regulatory, and financial planning. You will report to the Special Projects Manager for Global Delivery and support the streamlining of current processes and practices while identifying innovative solutions to the operational requirements of WRI offices around the world. It is expected that you will become an expert on all operational systems used across the WRI network and provide managerial support to WRI teams across all its international offices to use these systems. You should be willing to travel at short notice to WRI’s offices around the world to support colleagues in these offices on a variety of operational issues. The role might require out-of-regular office hours working times to account for time zone differences with WRI’s International offices. You will also be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Global Operations Team whose members are spread across WRI’s country offices.

What will you do:

Brilliant WRI Strategy – Management Support (60%): 

  • Manage and oversee the Process Excellence initiative – all delivery processes across Finance, Accounting, G&C, HR, and IT will be made end-user-focused focused, consistent across all offices, meeting the accepted quality and compliance benchmarks. All processes and procedures will be automated as per requirement and feasibility and documented with transparent TATs
  • Support the implementation of the Brilliant WRI strategy by closely monitoring progress and making sure our efforts are in line with the outcomes we have envisioned
  • Support the development and roll-out of the “Green Rule Book” that will enable staff to manage core work processes consistently and predictably through a transparent and accessible guidebook
  • Support the Building Blocks assessment process, Future Operating Model efforts, and other organizational design and change processes, along with setting up required conversations and following up on the action items

Global Operations – Coordination, Communication, Capacity building (40%):

  • Work with the Special Projects Manager to manage the agenda and priorities of the Global Operations Team to support operations in all WRI’s country offices
  • Establish oneself as an expert on all operational systems and processes across WRI. Be capable of building capacity of new staff at various levels on these systems and processes
  • Support the rollout of training on new and existing processes and systems to Operations teams in all the country offices as necessary
  • Work with the team to establish an internal communications function within the global delivery teams, streamlining roll out of out-of-initiatives and outreach efforts


What will you need:

  • Education: You have completed a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: You have 5+ years relevant work experience. You have experience working in international teams, across multiple functions
  • You have experience working in environments requiring flexibility to shifting opportunities, priorities, and needs
  • You have experience working with high levels of ambiguity and work with team members to find practical solutions
  • You have experience working with systems such as Costpoint, Oracle, Cognos, TM1, Salesforce, DevResults, or Asana
  • Languages: Verbal and written English proficiency. Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hindi, or Bahasa proficiency would be a plus
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

Potential Salary:  Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
