About Us:
Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, Non-Governmental Organization established in 2002 by a group of volunteers in the Jimma zone of Oromia Regional State. Initially founded to combat the HIV/AIDS pandemic, FIDO has expanded its focus to include prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), care and support for orphan and vulnerable children (OVC), and various health projects such as malaria control and reproductive health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hematological, biochemical, microbiological, and other routine diagnostic tests.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting of laboratory results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Properly collect, handle, label, and store patient samples in accordance with standard procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement and follow infection prevention and control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain proper documentation of test results, quality control logs, and laboratory records.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Identify and report abnormal or critical results promptly to the relevant healthcare provider.
- Participate in inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

About You
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
Licensure:
- Valid professional license and registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical or hospital laboratory experience.
Languages:
- Fluency in Afan Oromo and Amharic is required.
