Junior Social Worker/Project Officer at Organization for the Development of Women And Children in Ethiopia

As a Junior Social Worker, you will be responsible for working on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Harmful Traditional Practices (HTP), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) issues. Your primary role will be to provide support to individuals and communities affected by these issues

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct community outreach and education on SRH, HTP, and GBV-related issues.
• Provide counseling and psychosocial support to individuals and families affected by SRH, HTP, and GBV.
• Strengthen the establish youth council through providing demand driven capacity building training.
• Develop, plan and implement community-based interventions and activities to address SRH, HTP, and GBV-related issues.
• Work closely with healthcare providers and other service providers to ensure that survivors of GBV receive appropriate care and support
• Collect and analyze data related to SRH, HTP, and GBV to inform program design, implementation and lobby and advocacy.
• Conduct assessments, follow up and evaluations to measure the impact of programs on individuals and communities.
• Develop different and user friendly  IEC materials
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and other NGOs working in the same area.

Reporting line :  Executive Director

Qualification and work experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field
• Knowledge of SRH, HTP, and GBV-related issues, and the ability to work sensitively with survivors of violence and marginalized communities
• Experience in community-based programming and outreach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Fluency in local languages and English
• Over two years of working experience in the areas of SRH, GBV, HTPs and IDPs

Tasks:

Tasks:

• Design user friendly IEC & fact sheet materials for both publishing, website and social media purpose

Experience

• Who have good experience of designing different IEC and factsheet materials can apply for the assignment
• Good knowledge of IT and publisher
• Good knowledge of designing the expected IEC materials for social media

Invitation for experienced Training facilitators who can facilitate training on youth led social accountability, Basic SRHR, GBVs and HTPs (CM & FGM and intersectionality lobby and advocacy for our youth councils and partners.

The person should have rich experiences on the aforementioned thematic areas /subjects and experiences of facilitating training. Besides, he or she has to have good knowledge of country’s policies and strategies on SRH, GBV and HTPs.

Education: MPH and MA in social science.
