i-Capital Africa Institute is a forward-looking professional services firm based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, focused on capital market development, business consulting, and human capital solutions. The institute delivers research, advisory services, and capacity-building programs to support enterprises, financial institutions, and market stakeholders in navigating evolving business and financial environments. It provides market analysis, learning programs, and strategic advisory services tailored to the needs of the emerging Ethiopian capital market and broader African economies.

Job Summary

The Junior Capital Market Analyst supports market research, data analysis, and reporting related to Ethiopia’s capital market. The role focuses on analyzing securities, market trends, financial performance, and regulatory developments to support investment decisions, policy analysis, and market development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret capital market data (equities, bonds, treasury bills, corporate disclosures.
  • Support research on listed and prospective companies, market trends, and sector performance
  • Assist in preparing investment research reports, market briefs, and analytical dashboards
  • Monitor macroeconomic indicators, interest rates, inflation, and policy changes affecting the capital market
  • Support valuation analysis and basic financial modeling
  • Track regulatory updates from Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) and related institutions
  • Maintain databases and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of market data
  • Assist senior analysts in investment analysis, market studies, and client presentations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of experience (internship experience acceptable)
  • Basic understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and investment principles
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis tools
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Advantage)

  • Knowledge of Ethiopia’s capital market framework and regulations
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation techniques, or risk analysis
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Progress toward professional certifications (CFA Level I – advantage)
