Junior Accountant

Job Description

LOCATION	Head Office
№ of Positions	1
REPORTS TO	Coordinator, Finance and Budget
DURATION	One year contract with possibility of extension
SALARY RANGE	Gross monthly salary of ETB 9,667 – ETB 10,806 plus ETB 4,320 Housing allowance and ETB 3,300.00 Transport allowance, depending on candidates’ qualification, experience and earning history

Purpose of the Job:

To support in organizing and analyzing financial documents and accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Post and process journal entries to ensure all transactions are recorded.
Support in tracking and monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Support in preparation of reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements.
Assist in analysis and reconciliation of bank statements and general ledgers.
Prepare and file local compliance reporting, as necessary.
Assist in reviewing expenses received.
Act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile and by billing discrepancies.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

About You

BA degree in Accounting and Finance
Diploma/Level IV Certificate in Accounting and Finance
2 years of experience with BA
4 years of relevant experience with Diploma/Level IV
Knowledge of IFMIS is a plus
Computer literate.
Knowledge of Amharic is required.
Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous
