Health Development and Anti Malaria Association (HDAMA), has been re-registered with Proclamation No. 1113/2009 as local civil organization committed to bring sustained change by fostering popular participation in critical development problems that reduces vulnerability and promotes promising practices in the areas of health, livelihood, gender, conflict resolution and climate change.
The Health, Development, and Anti-Malaria Association (HDAMA) is a legally registered Ethiopian Civil Society Organization founded in 1998(1990 E.C.). The organization was originally founded to address malaria prevention and control. The organization was originally established to address malaria prevention and control in response to the unprecedented and catastrophic malaria epidemic that affected the country at the time. However, over time, it has broadened its scope to effectively implement integrated programs in public health, livelihood development, humanitarian response, and capacity building in Ethiopia.
The organization is working in line with the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019 and is working in close collaboration with government institutions, UN agencies, international NGOs, civil society organizations, and communities. The organization has gained considerable experience in the last two and a half decades in effectively implementing development programs in communities. Health Development and Anti Malaria Association (HDAMA), has been re-registered with Proclamation No. 1113/2009 as not for profit, nongovernmental and local organization committed to prevent and control the spread of malaria, HIV/AIDs, climate related and communicable diseases, and reproductive health problems.
Job Summary:
The Project Accountant is responsible for managing financial aspects of projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role involves collaborating with project coordinator and Sub-sub Recipients (SSR) and stakeholders to monitor project costs, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. The Project Accountant will prepare detailed and consolidated financial reports, track expenditures, and assist in the preparation of project budgets, ensuring that all financial metrics are aligned with Association’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to financial plans.
- Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for cost savings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project accounting or financial management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- knowledge of Quick book, Microsoft Excel and ERP
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Four (4) years relevant experience in the NGO setup.
- Experience in USG-funded projects is advantageous
