Ethiopian Women with Disability National Association (EWDNA) is a local, nonprofit making, nongovernmental organization based in Addis Ababa with 11 branches in Amhara (Gonder, Bahir Dar, Mehale Meda), Oromia (Ambo, jimma, Adama) SNNPR (Arba Minch) Sidama region Hawassa city and Sheger city Sebeta town and Dire Dawa. EWDNA is established in September 2002 with the initiation and struggle of 7 women with disabilities and one non-disabled woman. | EWDNA works on women with 5 types of disabilities; women with visual, hearing, physical & intellectual disability, and women affected by leprosy. EWDNA has 12,590 members of girls and women with disabilities across the country.

Vacancy Announcement:

01. Project Officer

  • Report to: Program Manager

Job Summary:

The Project Officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in line with the Association quality standards, donor compliance requirements, and safeguarding policies. The role ensures that project interventions effectively address the needs of children, adolescents, and vulnerable communities, with a strong focus on gender equality, inclusion, and protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement approved project activities in accordance with the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) and log-frame.
  • Ensure activities are gender-responsive, inclusive, and child-centered, in line with Plan International’s Global Strategy and CPP standards.
  • Provide technical support during community mobilization, training, awareness-raising, and service delivery activities.
  • Collect accurate, timely, and quality data using EWDNA tools and systems.
  • Support routine monitoring, beneficiary feedback mechanisms, and learning documentation.
  • Contribute to donor and internal reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual ).
  • Work closely with local government offices, community structures, and implementing partners.
  • Support coordination meetings at woreda and kebele levels.
  • Ensure full compliance with EWDNAs Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct and other policies and procedures.
  • Promote safe programming and accountability to affected populations.
  • Frequent travel to the project location specially in the above stated four woreda’s

Qualifications and Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Public Health, Education, Gender Studies, Disaster Risk Management, or related fields.

Experience

  • Minimum 4-5 years of relevant experience in INGO/NGO project implementation, preferably in humanitarian or resilience programming.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, girls, and vulnerable groups.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of community-based programming

Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator provides overall leadership, coordination, and technical oversight of project implementation, ensuring alignment with Association policies, donor requirements, and national standards. The role is accountable for quality delivery, team management, budget oversight, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in line with approved proposals and donor agreements.
  • Supervise Project Officers and field staff, ensuring performance management and capacity building.
  • Ensure timely utilization of project budgets in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to field teams to ensure evidence-based and inclusive programming.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality donor and internal reports.
  • Track indicators, risks, and assumptions and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead coordination with government counterparts, donors, UN agencies, and local partners.
  • Represent the association in coordination forums at zonal and woreda levels.
  • Identify and mitigate programmatic, operational, and safeguarding risks.
  • Ensure safeguarding incidents are reported and managed according to association procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Development Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, Public Health, Sociology, Social Work or related fields.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a coordination or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing donor-funded projects (e.g., EU, UN, Global Affairs Canada).

03. Project Accountant

Job Summary:

The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing and controlling all project-related financial activities in accordance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The position involves maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing timely financial reports, supporting budget planning and forecasting, ensuring proper documentation of expenditures, and facilitating payments, procurements, and statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile and follow up of financial statements and bank reconciliations monthly.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Support the project officer & project coordinator in budget planning, modification and forecasting.
  • Ensure that the expenditure report is reconciled with your accounting record.
  • Ensure that the financial reports have the required documentation before sharing these reports.
  • Follow up that the project procurements are handled and ensure the necessary office supplies are in place.
  • Assist project officer & project coordinator in the facilitation of project administration matters, such as procurement and close-out; Pay authorized payments to suppliers, purchasers or other staff and ensure that they are settled in time.
  • Effect payments for of the project participants during workshop, for project clients and other relevant meetings.
  • Properly follow the settlement of income tax, pension contribution, provident fund and withholding tax in time.
  • Record daily petty cash payments and prepare summary to request for replenishment before the end of petty cash fund. Disburse authorized payments from petty cash by checking the supporting documents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BA in Accounting and Finance and related field with minimum 4 years and above experience.
  • A proven skill with computer-based financial reporting is a must.
  • NGO work experience preferable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Peachtree software application skill is preferable.
  • Good knowledge of Excel application skill is mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Training on IPSAS is added value.
