Empathy for Life Integrated Development Association (ELiDA) is a women-led, non-governmental civil society organization dedicated to advancing gender equality, women’s leadership, and peacebuilding initiatives across Ethiopia. ELiDA focuses on empowering women and marginalized groups through capacity-building, advocacy, research, and community-driven peace processes. As part of its mission, ELiDA is implementing the “Women Count for Peace” project in Tigray, Amhara, and Oromia regions to promote the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda and UNSC Resolution 1325.
In the aftermath of Ethiopia & internal conflicts, including in Tigray, ELiDA recognizes the urgent need to strengthen the participation of women in conflict resolution, transitional justice, mediation, negotiation, and leadership roles at all levels.
