Job Summary

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation is seeking qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Chief Surveyor to support its major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in full-cycle measurement strategy, surveying operations, and on-site execution. The role requires the ability to lead survey teams, ensure measurement accuracy, and provide technical support throughout project implementation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing setting out, inspection, and acceptance procedures, as well as ensuring the proper calibration and maintenance of surveying instruments. The position also involves close coordination with clients, consultants, and supervision teams to ensure compliance with technical standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle measurement strategy and on-site surveying activities for major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of surveying data for setting out, inspection, and acceptance procedures.
  • Supervise and manage survey teams by establishing operational standards, workflows, and quality control systems.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior survey and measurement staff.
  • Oversee the selection, calibration, maintenance, and proper utilization of surveying instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure all measurement equipment remains in high-precision working condition and complies with project standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and supervision parties on all measurement-related activities and technical matters.
  • Support technical standard implementation, data verification, and project acceptance procedures.
  • Manage surveying data processing, analysis, review, and final report preparation.
  • Provide technical support for engineering modifications, deviations, and design adjustments.
  • Ensure all surveying activities are conducted in compliance with company procedures, project specifications, and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in surveying and measurement works.
  • At least 6 years of proven experience serving as a Chief Surveyor or in a similar leadership position.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage surveying and measurement teams effectively.
  • Strong experience in establishing and implementing quality control and assurance systems.
  • Proficient in the use of modern surveying equipment, including Total Station, GPS, levels, and related instruments.
  • Skilled in surveying data processing and related software applications.
  • Solid understanding of setting out procedures, inspection and acceptance processes, and calibration protocols.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and technical writing skills in English.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team management capabilities.
  • Disciplined, detail-oriented, and capable of supervising, mentoring, and training junior survey staff.
