MJE is currently awaiting anticipated support from the U.S. Department of State for a proposed Family-Focused HIV Prevention, Care, and Treatment Project to be implemented in Central Ethiopia, Sidama, Southern Ethiopia, and Southwestern Ethiopia regions. Once approved, the Project aimsto contribute to achieving Ethiopia’s “three 95” global HIV targets

01. Knowledge Management Officer

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: –

The Knowledge Management Officer is responsible for creating, organizing, and managing the FFHPCT Project information and data systems. He/she will provide data quality improvement and use support to the organization staff. He/she will also assist with data utilization for quality improvement, design quality improvement strategies and plans, and lead their implementation. He/she will support in producing quality knowledge management products, such as abstracts, manuscripts, and success stories.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the MEAL Specialist to produce quality monthly FFHPCT Project success stories, abstracts, manuscripts, and best practices.
  • Working closely with the MEAL Specialist to ensure the quality of data generated for decision-making.
  • Together with the program staff, the candidate will conduct a service quality assessment and client satisfaction survey.
  • Design new QI projects and follow the implementation of the QI project at the coordination level.
  • Train Project staff on the use and benefits of the knowledge management system, data quality, and information use.
  • Working closely with staff to ensure all designed QI projects are producing the required results.
  • Monitor and assist staff in the data cleaning and data modification process to ensure the quality of key MER and Custom indicators data.
  • Assist the MEAL Specialist in the design and development of electronic data management tools (Kobo and CommCare) for field data collection.
  • Working closely with the MEAL Specialist to ensure that all data quality, cleaning, and modification issues are properly resolved.
  • Closely works with mobile workers to identify user requirements for the enhancement of the CommCare application.
  • Compile and submit weekly data quality, cleaning, and modification reports and submit to the MEAL Specialist.
  • Conduct action research to identify the factors that affect real-time data entry, data quality, and information use practices at the SNU level.
  • Actively participate in the documentation of experiences, lessons learned, case studies, and other technical documents related to the CommCare Application and UDS dashboard.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.

Type of Employment: Full-time employment on a contract basis

Duration of the contract: Nine month with possible extension based on the grant availability

Duty Station: Dilla Coordination Office with frequent travel to supported Kebeles, and health facilities of Dilla and Yirgalem Towns

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • BSc/BA degree in Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Sociology, or related fields.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in a performance monitoring and/or evaluation role with a development organization.

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

  • Attention to detail and analytical skill;
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written;
  • Utilizing programming and statistical software (such as SPSS or STATA).
  • Practical skill in digital data collection tools such as Kobo or CommCare.
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the FMoH and PEPFAR reporting system, such as DHIS2, DATIM, and SmartCare, is a plus.
