1. E-learning facilitator | Addis Abeba (Deadline: December 31st 2024)

Hope for Children Australia (HFC-Aus) is an Australian grassroots organization, working in Ethiopia on community-based initiatives and focusing on education, health, alternative income generation and community engagement. HFC-Aus is currently seeking a qualified E-learning facilitator.

Job purpose:

The role of E- Learning facilitator provides students with excellent levels of support, advice and guidance in accessing wide range of e-learning resources in various formats, including the use of digital platforms and development of digital and academic skills.
High standard of digital skills and ability to apply them in the educational environment required. Some teaching will be involved as the E-learning facilitator is required to model best practice use of technology in the classroom setting.

The ability of all members of our staff community to reflect on their performance and both areas of success/achievement and development is a fundamental aspect of HFC ability to continue to improve its quality and outcomes for students. Main focus of The Performance and Appraisal Review for this position will be based on students ‘successful outcomes and ability to use learn skills effectively.

About You

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and merge online teaching materials involving videos/educational materials/and lessons within a specific area of students needs
  • Develop E-learning program based on needs and requirements of students
  • Facilitate computer clubs for SSY students as per program designed
  • Deliver E-learning sessions based on students’ needs and requirements
  • Implement and instruct students in STEAM activities
  • Monitor students’ progress and effectiveness of on-line learning
  • Identify resources and activities to support literacy, numeracy and development of digital capabilities.
  • Support activities focusing on improvement of students independent learning
  • Research emerging technologies, identify opportunities to integrate new initiatives and drive the implementation and use of educational technology
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Display leadership, initiative and foresight encouraging students to embrace new technologies
  • Be an effective problem solver who thrives on working with youth
  • Report on the outcomes of the E-learning program as required.
  • Work collaboratively with all HFC staff to facilitate and support academic achievement of all students

The E-learning facilitator may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for this position. About You

Key duties and responsibilities: 

  • Developing and implementing technology solutions in the organization
  • Providing assistance and advice to employees of HFC to sort out their computer software and equipment problems, network issues, safety measures etc. All jobs to be recorded with details and time allocated.
  • Setting up, installing technology and software, and troubleshooting
  • Fixing, updating, servicing, and maintaining all IT equipment
  • Ensuring data security
  • Train staff and students in the use of ICT systems and applications where necessary.
  • Developing and maintaining local networks; Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems – restrict use of social media and limit the internet access to HFC programs related sides only. Implement a limit on download size. Introduce restrictions and limits on sides and online materials age appropriate as well as monitor and report on inappropriate use and access.
  • Troubleshoot to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Maintaining records/logs of repairs and fixes.
  • Maintaining hardware and software inventory.
  • Maintaining expenses related to IT department.
  • Identifying computer or network equipment shortages.
  • Managing and maintain the computer lab as per camara and HFC requirements.
  • With guidance of HFC Country Representative and E-learning trainer maintain networked information technology resources effectively and efficiently in order to maximize educational and administrative outcomes; for example.
  • Merge online teaching materials involving videos/labs/and lessons within a specific teacher’s lesson plan.
  • Set up projectors and or screens in each classroom to deliver this material.
  • Facilitating computer clubs for SSY students as per program designed by E-learning trainer
  • Conduct inventory and report the status of the Laptops, Desktops, and other IT equipment’s.
  • Prepare and submit documentations and reports as required.
  • Additional tasks as required and assigned by the management.
