Irrigation Engineer – Kerchanshe Group

Job Purpose:

– Follows up overall irrigation activities and insure smooth and safe operation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To Develop a sound irrigation program
• To supervise and maintain all farmland irrigation systems, soil moisture and administer fertigation/ chemigation systems.
• Conduct a day to day irrigation programmed as per the irrigation schedule
• Program, monitor and control computerized irrigation controllers
• Inspect all irrigation system components from the head work to the drip end and applies corrective measures
• Controls daily irrigation water and fertilizer application will records and report
• Monitor a regular preventive cleaning and maintenance schedule
• Develop efficient and cost-effective irrigation system performance activities.
• Archive and upgrade site plans, specifications, cost estimates and environmental impact assessment.
• Monitors job site progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and environmental, safety and other government regulations.
• Monitor on repairs and replaces, drip emitter sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, water lines, and damaged and breakages in irrigation control wiring,
• Organize the irrigation system installation and related civil work and maintenance for instance ;Installs main and lateral line irrigation pipe, valves and sprinkler heads,
• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education:

• BSc or MSc in Irrigation Engineering/ water resource or Agricultural engineering or Related fields of studies.

Experience

• 4 years of relevant experience

Skills

• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, surface, and pivot systems
• Skilled in hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and pump selection
• Ability to design and interpret irrigation layouts, drawings, and blueprints
• Skilled in budget estimation, material selection, and project scheduling
