Invitation to Bid for Conduct demand and supply analysis for green energy technologies in Bale Eco-Region and associated landscapes of the Guji and Borena zones

Job Description

Farm Africa is an international NGO founded in 1985, with a vision to ensure a prosperous rural Africa. It is a specialist development NGO working with smallholder farmers and forest communities, local governments, and the private sector in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The organization is an expert in the fields of agronomy, livestock, natural resources management, and market engagement. With community engagement underpinning our approach, we design and implement sustainable solutions to rural poverty based on evidence and best practices.

Farm Africa wants to invite eligible bidders to conduct assessment on demand and supply analysis for green energy technologies. The Study aims to identify, analyze, sort out and recommend affordable green energy sources for the program to adapt planning and make alignment to those which can fulfil dual purposes (environment and energy needs) and can be easily adapted and disseminated over the larger areas of the program intervention areas.

Job Requirements

  1. Bidders shall submit all the legal documents (renewed Trade License, Registration, TIN, VAT/TOT certificates)Proven track record of conducting rural green energy demand & supply chain analysis, agricultural engeener/economist
  2. Extensive experiences and expertise in the energy sector preferably in household and community-based improved and clean energy options
  3. Proven experience in designing rural energy technologies like improved cook stoves, charcoal stoves, biogas, and Photovoltaic Concentrates (PVCs) solar technologies
  4. Sound knowledge of forest management and forest, climate change, and energy nexuses
  5. Sound knowledge of Ethiopia’s energy sector policy and strategies
  6. Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills pledge
  7. Excellent reporting and presentation skills
  8. Education preparation in the fields of electrical and or electro-mechanical engineering coupled with work experience in the energy sector is preferable
  9. Fluency in spoken and written English and sufficient knowledge of the local language
  10. Bidders shall clearly state their unit price and total price including VAT/ToT in ETB properly signed and stamped.

Bidders will be submitting their Technical and Financial proposals in two separate envelops duly marked as “Technical” and “Financial” proposals with stamp and signature. The document must be delivered to the email ethprocurement@farmafrica.org on or before 5:00 PM 20 September 2022.

Bid proposals will be opened by Farm Africa Procurement Committee. The winner bidder will be notified whether your proposals are considered based on technical and financial evaluation.
