Job Description

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.

At GAIN, we believe that everyone in the world should have access to nutritious, safe, and affordable food. Today, one in three people – drawn from nearly every country on the planet – are unable to consume enough nutritious food. We work to develop and deliver solutions to this daily challenge.

Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) Ethiopia Country Office is looking for pre-qualify suitably qualified and experienced vendors (suppliers, service providers and consultants) which can provide goods, services and works to the Country Office for the next two years. Interested and eligible vendors specializing in the supply or provision of goods, works and services in the categories mentioned below are invited to apply for pre-qualification. The invitation is applicable to both existing and prospective vendors.

Purpose of the Invitation:

To establish a pool of qualified suppliers for various goods and services that may be required by Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition Ethiopia Country Office in the future.
To ensure a fair and transparent procurement process.

About You

Eligibility:

Interested and eligible suppliers are invited to apply for pre-qualification.
Suppliers must meet the criteria outlined in the pre-qualification documents.
To qualify, the interested vendors (suppliers, service providers and consultants) shall provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the works/services, including but not limited to:

Description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions.
Availability of appropriate skills among staff and equipment.

Next Steps and Important Information:

Successful pre-qualified suppliers that meet the qualification requirements for the respective works or services will be added to a list of potential suppliers and will be invited by the procurement and logistic section of GAIN Ethiopia to submit a quotation/proposal
Any pre-qualification document received after the deadline shall be disqualified.
Prior to inclusion on the office supplier list, GAIN Ethiopia will carry out Site Visits & Due Diligence Verification of physical existence and operational capacity (if necessary) and
GAIN does not engage with organisations and individuals that are involved in terrorist activity or any linkages with terrorism. Hence, Anti-terrorism vetting/comprehensive screening will be conducted for each selected vendor.
Successful suppliers will be registered in GAINs Suppliers Database. To competitively procure goods and services GAIN Ethiopia will issue multiple RFPs and RFQs to companies who qualify this pre-qualification process.
For some selected categories, framework agreement will be signed based on a subsequent separate process and financial offer analysis.
Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition reserves the Right to Accept or reject any prequalification application and is not bound to give reasons for this decision thereof.
