The Forests4Future (F4F) project is part of a global project to support the implementation of the AFR100 commitments of Ethiopia, Madagascar, Togo, Cameroon, Benin, and Ivory coast.

The F4F Ethiopia project aims to rehabilitate the ecological and productive functions of degraded terrestrial ecosystems towards landscapes and forests, sustainable wood production, sustainable agriculture, mixed agroforestry systems, and the rehabilitation of pastures and wetlands. It strengthens the resilience of entire landscapes and improves the well-being of populations

in the effective implementation of activities related to forest development, landscape restoration, capacity building, and socio-economic interventions. This includes contributing to on-the-ground initiatives, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and enhancing the overall impact of the project’s objectives.

The internship will last Three months from the 1st of August 2025 to the 31st of October 2025 with possible extension until the 31st of January 2026.

The tasks of the internship

Technical field support;

• Assist the implementation of the project forest management activities, including silviculture practices, Farmers Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR), plantation development and agroforestry.
• Follow-up and facilitate the project school-based environmental initiatives, including awareness campaigns, peer learning exchanges, educational outreach, and alignment of club activities with extracurricular programs.
• Support and engage in the implementation of the project phase-out strategy and contribute to documenting the outcomes and lessons learned from the project pilot implementation, ensuring they are effectively compiled and disseminated for broader learning and potential scaling.
• Assist actively in collecting field monitoring data and compiling comprehensive reports to support project evaluation and progress tracking.
• Proper documentation and report to the technical team.
• Assist in the execution of field-level project activities and provide support for other related tasks as needed, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to emerging project needs and priorities.

Project data management support

• Assist the development of data and information collection templates and make Amharic translations whenever needed
• Accompany the project field experts during data collection activities, such as socio-economic data, agroforestry implementation, small and micro enterprises, etc.
• Support the partner in collecting georeferenced data and compiling it in a GIS platform.
• Help organize and compile data into clear, structured documents or reports.

Event organization and facilitation assistance to the field team

• Support in taking attendance and discussion minutes during training and events

• Support the evaluation of training by the training participants

• Support in some logistics arrangements as per the need from the technical and Admin & finance team
• Support in availing and arranging training materials
• Communication and facilitation with partners and service providers
• Support bridging communication

• Support in Amharic translations of verbal communication during events whenever needed

• Take over responsibilities of the field technical team in Arba Minch during their absence

• Support the field technical team with drafting communication products

Collaborate with the program aligned to needs and interests

• To support the technical team in any other project assignment as needed

• To contribute to the overall success of the project
