Floresta Ethiopia is non- governmental organization based in San Diego CA, USA, whose mission is to reverse poverty and deforestation by transforming the lives of rural poor. Floresta Ethiopia would like to invite competent candidates who fulfill the requirements indicated below.
General Function
Floresta Ethiopia would like to recreuit an HR Officer to lead and support the organization human resources unit. She/he will be responsible as a point pesronn for HR-related queries from employees and external partners. Among others the HR Officer main duties includes recureitment, training need assement, conducting HR related trainings, keep personnel files and records, onboarding, guiding incoming staff, updating internal databases and the like
Generally, the HR Officer needs to work towards ensuring the stregthning and development as well as the effectiveness of the Floresta Ethiopia HR activities inline with Ethiopianlabor law.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain personnel records
- Update internal databases (e.g., annual leave, sick leave and maternity/paternity leave, etc.)
- Prepare HR documents, like employment contracts, guides new recreuits, etc.
- Follow up periodic performance appraisal of employment
- Revise organization’s HR policies as required
- Liaise with external partners, like Health insurance vendor, and ensure legal compliance, follow up on legal issues, and keep records of legal litigation
- Prepare reports on HR related activates on quarterly basis
- Assist finance by providing relevant employee information for payroll preparation purpose (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules)
- Participate in HR activities (e.g. help organize a job fair event, staff retreat….etc.
- advising on disciplinary and employee performance problems
- Perform any other activates as deemed necessary

Educational Background and minimum requirement
- Minimum of 8/6 years’ experience in BA and MA respectively in Human Resources management and management
Desirable:
- Previous experience in HR
- Female applicants are encourage to apply
- Experience in NGOs sector is preferable.
