Job Description

Humedica e.V is German based International NGO registered and licensed in Ethiopia in February 2010. Currently, Humedica e.V Country Office is looking for a qualified Human Resource officer.

Job summary:

The human resources officer will have a primary goal of providing excellent assistance and support to employees and the organization in managing and developing its human and material resources. Moreover, prepare vacancy announcement, receiving application, recruitment screening & selection with the supervision, collaboration and consultation of operations manager. Work for the implementation of the HR policy.

Duties and responsibilities:

Specifically, the human resources officer will have the following main responsibility:

  • Arranges employment procedures for vacancies, renewals, leaves (Annual, sick, maternity etc)
  • Support the familiarization and implementation of HR and Admin initiatives and systems
  • Provide counseling on policies and procedures
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process.
  • Assist in performance appraisal processes
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Maintain employee records (attendance, Employment etc.) according to organizational policy and legal requirements
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
  • Follows-up and supervises the personnel and secretarial activities of the office
  • Assures office and compound cleanness and guard services are carried out according to schedule.
  • Facilitate promotion with in department
  • Draft employees contract before onboarding.
  • Provide job description to all employed staffs.
  • Provide counseling support to employees who require support.
  • Ensure that department leaders adhere to employee’s laws and regulations.
  • Organize training and development activities.
  • Make sure that the organization updated with the relevant country law and report and orient the country office management in time for right decision and informed actions.

Accountable and report:  to Operations Manager

Duty station: Country office, Addis Ababa

Grade: Grade 7 level 4

Gross Salary: 32,725

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • BA or MA  in HR or management or related with 8(4) years’ experience
  • Proven experience as HR officer, administrator or other HR position
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Strong ethics and reliability
