HRM Officer III (Senior HRM Officer)

Job Description
- Participate in recruitment processes reviewing job descriptions, posting job advertisements, screening applicants, conducting job interviews/written tests, reference checks, prepare employment minute, letter of offer and organize orientation and induction sessions as of the manual
- Prepare or review new employees contract agreement and ensure the new employees’ data is up to date on workday whenever new contract is approved
- Maintain accurate updated HR records for all staff including personal files and HR databases including ex-staff files.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organizations HR policies and labor law
- Work in writing personnel letters as required Transfer, Promotion, Increment, demotion, acceptance of resignation and others.
- Follow salary, benefit, allowances, leave, reward, severance payment, pension, performance management, leave and others are implemented as of the manual to ensure adequate provision of services.
- Monitor contract end dates and renew, position changes and staff transfers to the different locations as per management decision and ensure effective information flow to the work units.
- Follow and implement strictly the notification and termination periods of staff separation process and ensure timely submission of clearance forms and preparation of final pays
- Assists HR director in producing, implementing and updating HR policies and procedures.
- Develop human capital by engaging, motivating and retaining employees to support current and future business needs.
- Ensure that adequate and appropriate training programs are available when required, including the compilation of Training Need Assessment together with HRD training officer.
- Work for the smooth management of attendance and absences.
- Performs other activities assigned by the immediate supervisor
Educational back ground
- MA/MSc, BA/BSc in HRM, Management., Public Adm., Org. Leadership, Business Management./ administration , law & other related field of studies
Work Experience
For Masters Degree Minimum of 6 years / For first degree minimum of 8 years’ experience in HRM roles with NGO’s, Private or Gov’t organization as HRM officer, or other HRM or related positions.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Knowledge of HR functions
- Highly skilled at implementing HR policies and processes
- Excellent customer service skills with experience of providing coaching and mentoring to employees regarding HR policies and processes
- Excellent facilitation skills with experience of leading training and coaching events to improve the internal skills and capabilities.

- Current and detailed knowledge of HRD policies and practices within Ethiopia and worldwide with demonstrated ability of introducing practice training solutions into an organization.
- Experience at mainstreaming gender, youth and environment in all working practices.
- Understanding of labor laws & disciplinary procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with employees at all levels
- Problem solving and decision making aptitude
- Highly experienced at using Microsoft packages to provide quality written communications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Amharic and Afaan Oromo.
