Job Description

The HR and Admin Officer is responsible for supporting effective human resource management and administrative operations of ELiDA, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, labor laws, and donor requirements while promoting a professional and supportive work environment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Human Resource Management

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and personnel files.
  • Support performance management, staff appraisal, and capacity-building processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor law and ELiDA HR policies.
  • Maintain staff attendance, leave records, and payroll documentation.
  • Support safeguarding, code of conduct, and disciplinary processes.

Administration and Office Management

  • Oversee office administration, asset management, and procurement follow-up.
  • Maintain proper filing systems (hard and soft copies).
  • Support logistics, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.
  • Liaise with service providers, landlords, and government offices.
  • Support preparation of administrative reports and documentation.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/MA degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in HR and administration roles, preferably in NGO.
  • Good understanding of Ethiopian labor law and HR best practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in Amharic and English (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information responsibly.
