General Mechanic (Landscape Equipment Technician)

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of landscape equipment.
• Inspecting, repairing, servicing and maintaining all landscape and grounds keeping equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This includes small engines, mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, irrigation tools and related mechanical equipment.
• The technician supports the team by ensuring equipment is in optimal working condition and minimizing downtime.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: 

• Diploma in General Mechanics from a recognized Technical College or School

EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of three years solid work experience in related discipline.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

• Read, write, comprehend, and well-spoken in English language is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation; using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on two-stroke and four-stroke landscaping equipment.

• Assess damage and determine whether repair, replacement, or outsourcing is required.

• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records for all equipment.

• Ensure all tools and machinery are safe, operational, and compliant with safety regulations.

• Train landscaping staff on proper equipment use, care, and basic troubleshooting.

• Follow company SOPs, safety protocols, and PPE guidelines during all maintenance activities.

• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and service diagrams.

• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills.

• Knowledge of spare parts sourcing and inventory management.

• Basic knowledge of health and safety standards and safe workshop practices.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
