Job Description

Integrated Family Service Organization (IFSO) is a local not-for-profit Civil Society Organization working towards the protection and empowerment of orphan and vulnerable Children, girls,  destitute Women, Families and the Community. Our organization is currently looking forFinance & Administrative Head.

The administrative Officer reports to  the Ecexutive Director and works in collaboration with both program, admin and finance sections and administration and the project staff. The Finance & Administrative Headis responsible for providing full range of Finance & Administrative activities in order to ensure that services are provided in an effective and efficient manner.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Admin and accountancy: s/he will be responsible for all aspects relating to finance, including budgetary and accounting elements, as well as cash flow. S/he will be responsible for: registration of expenditures in the accountancy system; cash counts; cash and bank reconciliation on daily basis; payment of salaries; payment of service providers; procurement; diligent preparation and filing of hard copies and digital copies of documents; preparation of financial reports according to guidelines; preparation of monthly reports for the Program Manager about the financial status of the projects and expenditure forecast when requested.
  • Logistics: S/he will supervise the admin officer concerning the project assets inventory, monitor all contracts (travel insurances, office insurance, office lease contract etc.) and supervising the maintenance of furniture, equipment, vehicles. Finally, s/he will support the logistics of special events e.g. seminars, workshops, retreats.
  • Human Resources managementS/he will supervise the admin officer concerning the administrative management of staff (extension/termination of contracts), for the definition/updating of procedures and HR management tools in accordance with labor regulations and the HR policies of IFSO.
  • Administrative and legal management: S/he will supervise administrative records and guarantee that the status and functioning of the mission are in legal accordance with the requirements.
  • Will perform other duties assigned by the organization’ management

Starting date:February 1, 2023

Terms of Employments: One year contract with the possibility of extension.

Place of Work: Addis Ababa

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • M.A. /University graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration discipline or Public Administration or relevant background;
  • A minimum of 12 years’ experience in the administrative and financial management of projects in the NGO sector;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Mastering of Excel;
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, exercise judgment, meet deadlines and work under pressure;
  • Honest, meticulous, transparent, responsible;
  • Well organized and experienced in meeting deadlines.
  • Having an ethical and critical way of thinking;
  • Good inter-personal skills;
  • Previous experience working with AICS funded projects (preferable).
