Geneva Global Ethiopia is implementing Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE), a flagship initiative of Mastercard Foundation focused on strengthening teacher supply, instructional leadership, and student transitions in low performing secondary schools.

Position overview

The Field Program Manager provides regional coordination and operational leadership for LiTE implementation. The role ensures quality delivery of program pillars: Recruit, Train, Lead, motivate,

Access & Inclusion; Transition; and Ecosystem Strengthening. The Manager coordinates with GESI, MEAL, Safeguarding, Youth Engagement, Cluster Coordinators and School level LiTE facilitators.

Key responsibilities

A. Regional Program Planning & Coordination

  • Lead regional annual and quarterly work planning.
  • Coordinate implementation of teacher development, leadership strengthening, student support, and school-based activities.
  • Ensure alignment with GESI and MEAL officers at the regions by directly engaging with them.

B. Field Implementation Oversight

  • Conduct field visits to schools and clusters.
  • Ensure quality delivery of Competency Based Curriculum by arranging teacher support, leadership strengthening, career hubs, and youth engagement.
  • Support schools to implement the program activities.

C. Stakeholder & Government Engagement

  • Work closely with REB, WEOs, universities, College of Teachers Education , and TVET institutions.
  • Facilitate joint supervision visits and support REB-led coordination.

D. Access, Inclusion & Transition Support

  • Oversee community campaigns, enrolment and retention activities.
  • Support career guidance, tutorials, mentorship, and Community Career & Vocational Hubs.

E. Safeguarding & GESI Integration

  • Promote safeguarding, gender equality, disability inclusion, and youth participation.
  • Strengthen regional safeguarding coordination and safe learning environments.

F. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

  • Support MEAL teams with data verification and reporting.
  • Document lessons learned and regional implementation insights.

G. Community Engagement

  • Coordinate PTSA engagement, community awareness, and back‑to‑Learning campaigns.

H. Reporting & Documentation

  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly regional reports.
  • Document success stories and field innovations.

Qualifications & competencies

  • Master’s or BA in Education, Development Studies, Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years (MA) or 7 years (BA) of program management experience.
  • Proven experience with regional education systems.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of secondary education reforms, Competency Based Curriculum, Gender Equality Safeguarding & Inclusion
  • Ability to work in multi‑regional, low‑resource contexts.
  • Local language of the project locations/regions is an advantage.
