Job Description

Tearfund Ethiopia is looking for a competent and experienced Field Officer for its Recovery Livelihoods Project in Dubuluk, Borena, Ethiopia. The Field Officer (FO) is responsible for planning, activities implementation, progress tracking, monitoring and reporting. The job holder is responsible for the overall implementation of the project, including the administration and the project budget management at the field level. Conducts regular field monitoring visits, provides feedback and technical support to ensure coordination with all stakeholders.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • BSc/BA in the fields of Agriculture, Rural Development,  DRM, Social sciences   and related fields of study.
  • Three  years (for MA) of progressive experiences in programme designing, proposal writing, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning and above experience in Agriculture/livelihood project implementation and/or emergency response and disaster management works within NGOs.
  • Project management experience within a relief and recovery context
  • Experience in post-distribution monitoring (assessments and reporting)
  • Documentation management and ability to use project management tools
  • Knowledge of culture, norms, beliefs and geographical areas of the target Woreda is an asset.
  • Technical expertise in SHG/VSLA  approach.

This is a national full time fixed term position based in Yabelo, Borena, with frequent travel to Dubuluk. Therefore, Ethiopian nationals will be given preference for this role.
