Job Description
The main objective of the audit is to enable the auditor to express an independent professional opinion on whether the financial statements of SWR Ethiopia present a true and fair view of its financial position and performance in accordance with Ethiopian Gov’t Law, Organization’s procedure & Donor Compliance.
About You
As part of its compliance with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) laws, donor requirements, and internal governance standards, SWR Ethiopia desires to engage a qualified, licensed and experienced external audit firm to conduct its annual organizational and project specific audits for the financial year ending 31 December 2025.
Eligible audit firms must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Legally registered in Ethiopia and licensed with certificate of professional competence issued by the Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in auditing INGOs.
- Demonstrated capacity to conduct multi-donor and multi-project audits.
- Qualified team including a certified auditor and audit supervisor.
- No conflict of interest with SWR Ethiopia.
- Renewed trade license as per the Ethiopian trade regulation, taxpayers’ registration certificate, and VAT registration certificate

How to Apply
Submission Requirements:
Interested audit firms should submit:
- Technical Proposal, including:
- Firm profile and legal registration documents
- Understanding of the assignment
- Proposed methodology and work plan
- CVs of key audit team members
- List of similar INGO audited by the firm in the last 3 years
- Quality assurance procedures
- Recommendation letter from Organizations audited by the firm
2. Financial Proposal, including:
- Detailed breakdown of audit fees
- VAT and all applicable taxes
- Payment terms
- Final report delivery date
3. All proposals should be submitted only in person, in two separate sealed envelopes to SWR Ethiopia Office.

4. The bid documents must be received by Stichting Wageningen Research Ethiopia from the date of announcement till December 24, 2025, during working hours from 08:30 am to – 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday).
5. Any proposals received after the deadline will not be accepted.
6. Conditions that result in automatic rejection of bid:
- Bidders that do not fulfill the requirements mentioned in the “Required Qualifications” shall be automatically rejected at the time of the bid opening.
SWR Ethiopia reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, request additional information and specifically reserves the right to make the award in the best interests of the organization.
