Expedited SVN -National Policy and Liaison Officer

• Master’s degree in Social sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Economics, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
• University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.

• Experience working with AU Institutions and Regional Economic Communities in the field of migration governance;
• Proven record of liaising and  establishing and maintaining good working relationships with governmental and diplomatic authorities, national, regional, and international institutions, private sector and civil society actors;
• Experience in organizing consultations, workshops and seminars with high level government authorities, UN representatives and other high level stakeholders;
• Experience in project development, implementation, and reporting, including financial and budgetary aspects;
• Familiarity with inter-agency programme regulations of the UN and other donors.

1. Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills; ability to prepare clear and concise reports;
2. Basic knowledge of monitoring and evaluation concepts, approaches and methodologies;
3. Strong analytical and planning skills; capacity to establish working relationships with governmental authorities, national/international institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations;
4. Ability to work with accuracy under constraints and pressure;
5. Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, creative thinking; problem-solving skills, project design, management and implementation, project reporting
6. Good level of computer literacy, including database applications.
7. Proven high-level representation skills, such as public speaking and providing situational analysis

• Fluency in English

Desirable 

• Working knowledge of any UN and African Union Official language(s) and/or language(s) identified by the Special Liaison Office is an added advantage.
