ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on the enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Driver Position who meet the following requirements.

Required number: Two

Reports to: Head, General Service Department

Duty station: NEBE Headquarters, Addis Ababa

Duration: Contract (6 months of Contract with Possibility Extension

Salary: As per the organization salary scale (Competitive)

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for safely transporting staff, documents, and materials to designated locations while ensuring adherence to traffic regulations and organizational policies. This role requires maintaining the assigned vehicle in good condition, conducting routine checks, and assisting with basic logistical support when needed.

Duties and responsibilities

• Safely transport NEBE staff, documents, and materials to designated locations as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and NEBE transport policies.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, including checking fuel, oil, water, tires, and brakes, and report any issues for maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of the assigned vehicle.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials when required.
• Keep accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and maintenance needs.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring punctuality and efficiency.
• Report any accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle malfunctions immediately to the supervisor.
• Assist in basic administrative and logistical tasks related to transportation.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Services Manager.

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Certificate Completed
• Driving License (Public I)
• 3 years of work experience in a related job position.

Know-How (Skills) (Technical competencies):

• Knowledge about Defensive Driving, Meticulous while on the road.
