Driver

LaGoIII

Contract Duration: July 15, 2025, up to January 31, 2026

The land governance project III has an objective of strengthening Ethiopian land governance institutions and actors in addressing spatial challenges. In collaboration with different land administration institutions at all levels, LaGo III will follow the three approaches to reach its objective i.e. Support in Inclusive Land Reforms, Support in Modernizing Land Administration: Capacity and Digital and Establishing Integrated & Participatory Land Governance System.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Safe and responsible driving of all official travel using official project vehicles.
  • Regularly servicing (routine maintenance) and care of project vehicles.
  • Taking careful note of all available information concerning street conditions, accessible routes and locations.
  • Running of official errands and assisting with other office services.

General Tasks

Driving and Chauffeuring

  • Drive office vehicles safely and chauffeur office and program staff, official visitors and guests to official destinations.
  • Assist with transporting goods.
  • Complete the vehicle log correctly and conscientiously in accordance with GIZ standards.

Maintenance of Cars

  • Regularly cleaning the inside and outside of official vehicle(s).
  • Check oil, water, brake and clutch fluids on a daily basis; tire pressures, battery water, and overall vehicle condition on a monthly basis or after 5,000 km (whichever comes earlier); tests lights, brakes, bodywork for dents, etc.

About You

Required qualifications, competencies, and experience.

Qualifications

  • Diploma In Electronics
  • Experience with digital logbooks.
  • 3rd grade driving license and possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • No history of major accidents within the past 3 years.
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.
  • Discipline and punctuality, stress tolerance and patience.
  • Familiarity with the city and region of the duty station.
  • Appropriate appearance and attire.
  • Experience working with GIZ or non-profits.
