Major Responsibilities /Job Description:
End Result 1 (25% of Time)
Project managed to the required standard and timeframe, while maintaining the good reputation of WV Ethiopia among donors, partners, and beneficiaries.
Key Activities
- Oversee and coordinate the implementation of all RISE project activities at field level.
- Ensure compliance with the approved RISE project proposal, WV Ethiopia policies, donor requirements, and applicable government regulations.
- Monitor implementation progress against agreed targets, timelines, commitments, and quality standards.
- Coordinate relevant stakeholders to support timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Identify implementation gaps and initiate prompt corrective actions.
End Result 2 (25% of Time)
Effective monitoring and supervision practiced, with planned activities implemented on time and project resources used efficiently.
Key Activities
- Ensure proper physical and financial implementation of project activities in line with approved plans and budgets.
- Monitor resource utilization to promote efficiency, effectiveness, accountability, and value for money.
- Conduct regular field monitoring and supportive supervision visits.
- Track expenditures and implementation progress against approved plans and targets.
- Ensure key activities and milestones are completed within the agreed timeframe.
End Result 3 (15% of Time)
Project staff perform in accordance with the RISE project proposal, approved plans, and required implementation standards.
Key Activities
- Oversee and supervise field-level Project Officers responsible for sector activities.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, mentoring, and operational support to project staff.
- Monitor staff performance and adherence to project plans, organizational policies, and quality standards.
- Identify and address implementation challenges and operational concerns promptly.
- Take immediate and appropriate action to improve project delivery and staff performance.
End Result 4 (10% of Time)
Strong networking, collaboration, and active participation maintained with government structures and other stakeholders.
Key Activities
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with field coordination structures, including ABC, Woreda, and Zonal government offices and institutions.
- Coordinate and collaborate with non-governmental organizations, community structures, and other actors operating in the project area.
- Represent the project in relevant coordination forums, meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
- Promote information sharing, partnership, and joint action in support of project objectives.
- Strengthen government, partner, and community participation in project implementation.
End Result 5 (10% of Time)
Project performance transparently reported, ensuring accountability to the donor, management, government, and other stakeholders.
Key Activities
- Compile field-level financial and narrative reports in accordance with established reporting requirements.
- Review reports for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with donor and organizational standards.
- Submit timely and high-quality reports to the Project Manager.
- Document project achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and good practices.
- Maintain effective reporting and documentation systems that support accountability.
End Result 6 (15% of Time)
Management and relevant government offices receive regular, accurate, and timely project plans and progress reports.
Key Activities
- Prepare and submit annual, quarterly, monthly, and ad hoc operational plans as required.
- Compile and submit regular progress reports to the respective Project Manager and relevant government offices.
- Monitor implementation against approved operational plans and agreed targets.
- Provide clear updates on achievements, challenges, corrective actions, and mitigation measures.
- Ensure all plans and reports are submitted within the required timelines and quality standards.
Work Location: Babile and Midhega Tola (East Hararghe Zone)
Number positions required: 2 (Two)
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification:
· BA/BSc Degree in Agriculture, agricultural economics, Economics, Development studies, WASH related or other related fields
Required Professional Experience:
· Experience: 2-5yrs/2yrs in coordinator/ management level.
· Program management skills, Participatory M&E, community participation, Participatory Learning & Action
· Experience in USAID/BHA and EHF funded projects is an advantage
· NGO experience is preferred.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
· Program management skills, community participation, Participatory Rural Appraisal, Participatory Learning & Action
Language
· Fluent in oral and written Amharic, English and Afan Oromo
· Knowing the local culture and language is mandatory
