Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Organization: Agriterra
Deadline: October 31, 2026
Agriterra is an international non-profit organisation founded by the Dutch agricultural sector. We are dedicated to strengthening farmer organisations, because we believe they are the cornerstone of thriving rural communities. By building on the success of the Dutch cooperative sector, we provide the knowledge, resources, and support farmer organisations need to grow stronger, thrive economically, and create lasting local prosperity.
With a strong presence in the countries where we work, Agriterra fosters collaboration and long-term impact.
Together, we sow the seeds of change today, for a thriving tomorrow.
The Farmers Focused Transformation Phase 2 (FFT 2) project is a five-year initiative running from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2030, focusing on the avocado, banana, and mango value chains in the Oromia and Sidama regions of Ethiopia. The project aims to strengthen 26 farmer organizations (FOs) and benefit more than 51,000 smallholder farmers by promoting resilient, inclusive, and market-oriented horticulture systems.
FFT 2 will support avocado farmers through improved seedling production, better post-harvest handling, storage, and stronger access to premium export markets, while promoting climate-smart and environmentally sustainable farming practices. In the banana value chain, the project will strengthen the distribution of improved varieties, improve production and post-harvest management, and enhance market linkages to increase productivity, reduce losses, and improve farmer incomes.
By 2030, FFT 2 envisions strong, financially sustainable, and well-governed farmer organizations that drive productivity, value addition, and market integration. The project will strengthen the governance, leadership, and financial capacity of FOs, enabling them to become credible agribusiness partners, advocate for farmer interests, and operate as self-sustaining cooperatives integrated across the value chain.
Agriterra is seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and data management activities under the FFT 2 project. The intern will assist in data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting to ensure timely and accurate project monitoring. Key responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive farmers’ registry and cooperative database using Agriterra’s reporting system, Agro-info.net (AIN) and LogAlto, and other open-source platforms for data collection, management, and visualization.
The intern will also record and track training attendance among farmers, cooperative board members, and staff, and support reporting on the number of people reached through direct training, disaggregated by training theme. These themes include production-focused topics such as yield maximisation, crop diversification, and input efficiency, including the use of biosolutions, to improve productivity and optimise resource use; sustainability-focused topics such as sustainable land management, soil health and analysis, water resource management, and conservation and regenerative practices to protect natural resources; and quality-focused topics such as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), pest and disease management, and post-harvest loss management to improve produce quality and reduce losses. Other agricultural training themes delivered under the project will also be recorded and included in the reporting.
In addition, the role involves supporting the collection, organization and reporting of KPIs, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data submitted for project monitoring, evaluation and decision-making.
