About the Opportunity
The Data Analyst is a new position for Inkomoko as we double the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team in 2023. This is a regional position, responsible for deliverables across our countries of operation in Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing data and developing insights to support the organization’s decision-making processes. They will also be responsible for creating visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
The Data Analyst will work closely with the organization’s stakeholders to ensure that the data collected is accurate and up-to-date. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the organization’s data quality.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:
- Analyze data and develop insights from a range of data sets across the company
- Work with the Data Engineering staff to ensure that data is clean, well structured, secure, and accessible
- Create and Manage company dashboards
- Create visualizations, presentations, and reports to communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Run inferential statistical analyses on various data sets to identify trends & relationships
- Develop strategies to improve the organization’s data quality
- Monitor performance of databases and raise/ deal with any issues that arise
- Provide technical support to stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate should be at an advanced level within the M&E domain and bring years of relevant experience to the role. The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:
- Previous experience in data management in a complex and fast-scaling environment in East Africa
- At least 5 years work experience in MEL or related data fields
- Experience with data analysis tools stata, R, SQL
- Experience in data visualization software such as PowerBi, Tableau, Mode ….
- Bachelors’ degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or other relevant field
- Communications and presentation skills for a wide variety of audiences
