Cost Accountant

Radisson Blu Hotel, Addis Ababa which is centrally located in Kazanchise Business District adjacent to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa conference hall (UNECA-AA) and just few kilometers from Bole International Airport is looking for a dynamic and self-starter candidate to join our team as a Cost Accountant.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• To verify food and beverage purchase invoices against quantities ordered and received
• Ensures items requisitioned are properly accounted for
• Maintains food and beverage costs percentages on a daily basis and prepare a daily report
• To reconcile food and beverage cost deviations of store issued items against physical inventory cost on a monthly basis
• Debits miscellaneous food cost deductions to proper ledger accounts and credits food and beverage cost accounts so that both sides balance
• Prepares preliminary food and beverage cost and purchase summary reports
• Updates menu costs quarterly for all outlets and meal periods
• Works closely with concerned departments to develop menu pricing of food and beverage products
• Prepare cost breakdowns of food and beverage

Required qualifications and competencies are as follows:

• B.A Degree in Accounting and Finance.
• A minimum of 3 years relevant job experience, preferably in the hospitality sector
• Ability to use computer Applications
• Knowledge of Sage (ERP), Opera, MC System
• Analytical and Problem-solving skill
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent command of English
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and handle multiple assignments
• Capable of working in a team environment
• Highly organized, able to carry out tasks independently and accomplish assigned duties on time
