Role Summary

The Landscape Alliance is building a dynamic pool of 30 to 50 GIS Digitization Assistants for the GCF Knuckles Project. In collaboration with the AgriLook platform, this remote consultancy focuses on establishing a precise, quality-controlled geospatial database of rice field and plot boundaries to power satellite-based agricultural monitoring and decision support tools.

Key Responsibilities

Geospatial Digitization: Trace individual rice fields and plot boundaries as closed polygons from high-resolution satellite and reference imagery using industry-standard GIS software.
Topology & Accuracy: Deliver topologically correct, non-overlapping polygon datasets meeting strict project specifications (e.g., finer than 1:500 scale).
Attribute Management: Populate required metadata fields for every polygon, including unique field IDs, administrative/GN divisions, land-use types, and source imagery dates.
Progress Tracking & QA/QC: Maintain a digitization log, submit work in scheduled batches, and promptly revise any flagged geometries through the project’s quality assurance feedback loop.

Candidate Qualifications

Education: Completed or enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Geography, Surveying, Remote Sensing, GIS, Agriculture, or a related field (or demonstrable equivalent practical experience).
Technical Skills: Foundational proficiency in GIS software (such as QGIS or ArcGIS) and satellite/aerial imagery interpretation.
Experience: Prior hands-on experience with land parcel, cadastral, or agricultural field boundary digitization is strongly preferred.
Administrative Skills: Basic spreadsheet management capabilities for progress tracking and batch submissions.

Engagement Type: Remote consultancy with output-based remuneration tied to the verified quantity of approved agricultural field polygons digitized.
Hiring Scale: Establishing a pool of 30–50 qualified individuals.
