Floresta Ethiopia is non- governmental organization based in San Diego CA, USA, whose mission is to reverse poverty and deforestation by transforming the lives of rural poor.

NOW Floresta Ethiopia is implementing different developmental societal activities to improved economic empowerment and environmental restoration in Andabet woreda, amhara region, Ethiopia. On top of its expansion for a certain planning years, the program, Floresta Ethiopia would like to invite competent candidates who fulfill the requirement of the indicated different vacant positions listed below.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Closely coordinate partner/ project activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in program delivery.
  • Mobilize community members to ensure community participation and involvement in project activities
  • Ensure community participation includes the most vulnerable and marginalized groups (especially women, girls and people living with disabilities)
  • Identify and build relationships with relevant partners as a resource to support program implementation
  • Supervise and facilitate any community-based trainings and activities by delivery partners
  • Ensure community awareness about program priorities, strategies and approaches including program close out and handover dates
  • Provide program support to develop work plans and activity timelines Floresta Ethiopia, Recruitment Advertising
  • Serve as a focal person for effective communication between community groups/leaders/volunteers and program partners
  • Support the communities to strengthen/ build relationships with local partners, local authorities, and local leadership to ensure project sustainability and local needs and priorities are being met.
  • Lead on the review, development and implementation of a creative, comprehensive and measurable institution-wide stewardship program.
  • Develop policies, procedures and any relevant documentation to ensure a cohesive approach to stewardship activity.
  • Create and implement a system for evaluating the effectiveness of stewardship efforts.
  •  Establish and coordinate the development of a new tiered loyalty and recognition programs to acknowledge donors at the appropriate level and retain long-term relationships.
  • Creating partnerships with all government institutions, Churches, health posts, NGOs and others.
  • Mobilize communities to support program objectives in general and protect church forests in particular.
  • Liaising with the Technical team to support and encourage communities to resolve technical issues within agreed timescales – Ensure the community is linked with and utilizing local technical assistance.
  • Regular and consistent monitoring of project activities
  • Providing monthly reports of project progress to program Manager
  • Under take regular community supervision and maintain effective community communication.
  • Using participatory methodology and local experts, adapt curricula and training materials related to institutions, community and change, creation care and theology of work as appropriate to the local context.
  • Train and support church leaders in active engagement with reconciliation, renewal and restoration.
  • Arrange exchange visits to motivate and educate essential concepts.
  • Build networks of and connections between churches in the watershed to support whole sub watershed transformation
  • Identify (with local experts and Environment Restoration Officer) bio-corridors (connected conservation areas) that protect vulnerable areas from erosion and reduce threat of habitat fragmentation
  • Mobilize participants, churches and authorities to designate and manage corridors Develop monitoring protocols for checking progress and sustainability of effort
  • Ensure close coordination and appropriate consultation with other program sectors to achieve integration and synergy
  • Help other staff and participants to understand the inherent (non-utilitarian) value of all creation
  • Support and facilitate the completion of regular /monthly, quarterly and annual report

 Qualification

  • BA/MA in Psychology, Social Works, Sociology and Agricultural Extensions 6/4 years and above relevant experience.
  • Experience with NGO in Ethiopia is more valuable.
