Job Description
Society for Education, Environment and Development (SEED) jointly with SOS Sahel Ethiopia obtained financial support from UN OHA to Implement a project entitled “Rebuilding Live Integrated Humanitarian support for returning IDPs in HoroGuduru Wollega zone,Abe Dongoro District“. The project objective is to strengthen the livelihoods, food security, and protection of returning internally displaced populations in Abe Dongorodistrict by delivering integrated time-bounded support including Emergency shelter with its package. The project will be in implementation from 01, December 2025 to 31,July 2026.
SEED as part of its program implementation is seeking to employ interested, qualified, and experienced individual for the job positions mentioned hereunder:
Community Development officer field based
Job Type: 8-months contract, 01, December 2025 – July 2025)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work out all duty assignments related to the emergency program,
- Lead and execute emergency interventions in the selected targets in full and timely manner,
- Build a functional relationship with counterparts (implementing partners, government, Community leaders and community),
- Work closely with the project team and government counterparts to achieve the project objectives.
- Carry out participatory field work sessions (field meetings) in order to establish and develop community level ownership for the emergency activities,
- Implement the good practices that exist in the community to make the intervention successful,
- Prepare monthly reports and update daily scenarios on the ground,
- Carry out other activities assigned by the project team whenever needed.
Salary: As per SEED salary scale
NB*: Knowledge of local languages – Afaan Oromo is required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- B.A Degree in sociology ,B.Sc, in Agricultural Extension, or related fields with minimum of 5 years work experience
- Time management
- Adaptability
- Attention to detail
