iDE is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to create income and livelihood opportunities for poor, rural households. iDE implements market-based, climate-smart development programs that foster innovation, build inclusive market systems, and empower entrepreneurs, smallholder farmers, women, and youth to improve their economic and social well-being.
Position: Communications Consultant (#1)
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Consultant to support the documentation and visibility of project achievements. The consultant will play a key role in capturing the impact of project interventions through compelling stories, high-quality photography, videography, and digital communications. The consultant will also strengthen the organization’s online presence by managing social media platforms and promoting project events and learning.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The Communications Consultant will be responsible for:
Project Documentation and Visibility
- Document project activities, milestones, and achievements through high-quality photography and videography.
- Produce success stories, case studies, lessons learned, and short promotional/documentary videos showcasing project impact.
Digital Communications and Social Media
- Manage and update the organization’s social media platforms.
- Develop and publish engaging digital content, including photos, videos, graphics, and stories, to promote project activities, events, campaigns, and achievements while increasing audience engagement.
Event Communication
- Document workshops, training, meetings, field visits, and public events.
- Prepare event highlights, photo stories, and communication materials, including brochures, newsletters, presentations, flyers, and infographics.
Knowledge Management
- Maintain an organized digital archive of photos, videos, and communication materials.
- Document and share best practices, innovations, and lessons learned, ensuring all materials are properly captioned and catalogued.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Collaborate with technical teams to identify communication opportunities and capture project impact.
- Prepare periodic communication reports and support donor communication and visibility requirements.
Deliverables
The consultant is expected to deliver:
- High-quality photographs and edited videos from project activities.
- Success stories and beneficiary profiles
- Case studies documenting project innovations and lessons learned.
- Short promotional and documentary videos.
- Social media content calendar and regular posts.
Event coverage reports.
- Communication materials including newsletters, brochures, and infographics as needed.
- A well-organized digital repository of communication assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing, Film Production, or a related field.
- Proven skills and experience in videography, photography, video production, editing, and visual storytelling.
- Experience developing communication products, including success stories, case studies, short videos, photo stories, and digital content.
Duration of Engagement: 6 (Six) months with possibility of extension.
Duty Station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to project areas
Salary and benefit package: As per the scale of the Organization.
