Position: Commodity Storekeeper

Duty Station: Shala(Oromia), Semera and Abala(Afar), Mekele(Tigray) and Debark(Amhara)

Duration of Contract: Temporary contract

Closing date: October 29, 2025

Principal Responsibilities

Key Result #1 – Implementation

  • Receive and issue commodity allocated for the Beneficiaries and report to immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure the proper management of commodity and other materials every time.
  • Ensure all required accessories available for the management of commodities in the store.
  • Check the availability of bin cards in the store and stock cards in the accountant office.
  • Get ready for the auditors whenever it is needed for annual audits.
  • Ensure fixed assets and non-fixed assets were registered properly and kept in the project office. Make sure that it has to be reported to head office.
  • Ensure the approval of requests by appropriate persons before Issued of any commodity & other materials.
  • Make sure the measurements of the oil and other commodities are available in the store and properly used to beneficiaries.
  • Make sure distributors have received proper ration size to the beneficiaries.
  • Make sure all fixed assets are registered and issues by individuals for the project use counted every year and checked by internal controllers.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by project accountant and administration.
  • Update bin cards and other documents as there is any materials and commodity received on due time.

    Key Result #2 –Monitoring

  • Report any loss or over commodity received from contracted transporter and internal stores.
  • Submit all commodity report every month, quarter and yearly bases to immediate supervisors.
  • Inspect the store on daily basis and report to the immediate supervisor if any problems occurred.
  • Report to accountant to inspect commodities every month by the internal controllers assigned by project manager.
  • Ensure the proper use of dispatches and report in before two unused pads left for use.
  • will undertake any other activity or assignment given to him/her

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Accounting, Management or relevant field of study.
  • 2 years related experience in a relevant position Preferably in INGO Setting.

Distinguishing Competencies

  • Proactive personality & and self-initiative.
  • Computer literacy
  • Enthusiasm about the Heartbeat of FHE

Language

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Knowledge of local language of the intervention area is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • The position has no supervisory responsibility.

  • Refrain from any comments or gestures that indicate prejudicial views of female staff, especially female supervisors.
  • In each Project and Head Office, ask women staff what changes would make it more “gender-friendly”, organization and implement the recommendations

Safety & Security Responsibility

  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
  • Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located.
  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.
  • Has a responsibility to become familiar to social, cultural and other associated features of their duty stations;
  • Abstains from inappropriate or offensive behavior that can put FHE in a difficult position, impair operations, and jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff of FHE.
  • All FHE staff should promotes safe conducts and exercises caution in all work activities; staff should accountable for own personal and professional actions and conduct;
