External Vacancy Announcement for Mass Youth Employment in Apiculture (MaYEA) Program

Bees for Development Ethiopia (BfDE) is an Ethiopian resident charity organization that has worked for about 11 years in Amhara and South-West Regions of Ethiopia. Its mission is promoting beekeeper friendly beekeeping practices in Ethiopia that is well integrated with the environment thereby contributing to sustainable rural livelihoods. BfDE’s major program components are beekeeping and natural resources management. We strive to make beekeeping accessible for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged Ethiopians.  MaYEA Program funded by MasterCard Foundation, is designed to transform Ethiopia’s apiculture industry by enabling 1,050,000 young people (80% women) to access wage and self-employment through skilling and access to financial services. BfDE signed a contract agreement with ORDA-Ethiopia (lead applicant) to contribute its part in the implementation of MaYEA program in 14 weredas of Amhara and Benishangul Gumuz Regions.

BfDE is inviting competent applicants that meet the minimum requirements to apply for the positions presented below. Job Requirements

Education 
  • MSc or BSc Degree in Apiculture or Animal science/livestock
Experience
  • A minimum of 4 years relevant work experience (especially in NGO) for MSc and 6 years for BSc
