Job Description
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Functional Summary
Cashier of NEWA is expected to provide cash handling support to the organization’s different project /program
Duties &Responsibilities
- Collects aid funds and other legal remittances against proper receipt issue and record
- Reconciles daily collections against the vouchers/receipts and deposits the cash in the bank at the earliest possible time /next day with proper documentation
- Ensure staff custody of cash held and also during transportation
- Always maintains the cash limit to the stipulated petty cash limits to meet emergent expenditures
- Ensures proper documentation of received cash, cash issued from petty cash and hands them over to accountant on daily basis.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensure proper storage of materials, and manage receipt and issuance of goods according to organizational procedures
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervises
Accountability
- Supervision: work independently in routine tasks under the general direction of the finance & administration officer
- Decision Making: Makes routine decisions with regards to work responsibilities and is accountable for them
- Responsibility over data or information: has access to important and highly confidential information relating to the network
- Responsibility over assets: computer, printer, office furniture inventory of office equipment and stationery, custodian of all financial files.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or a degree in Accounting or related field.
- Experience in cash handling
- Basic computer skills
