Eligible Applicants

National and international training service providers with valid legal registration and demonstrated track record in delivering MSD training could apply for the service.

Background:

The Partnership for Productivity (P4P) project is a five-year, USDA-funded food for progress project dedicated to strengthening and transforming livestock value chains across the Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Oromia regions of Ethiopia. The project employs a Market Systems Development (MSD) approach, recognizing that sustainable, scalable, and inclusive growth can only be achieved by addressing the underlying root causes of market system constraints rather than providing temporary or substitute services.

As P4P advances its market systems agenda, there is a need to strengthen the capacity of project staff, government counterparts, and key institutional partners to apply MSD principles and tools effectively within the context of Ethiopia’s livestock sector. Building a common understanding of MSD concepts and practical application will be critical to ensure coordinated interventions, adaptive management, and long-term market system change.

To support this objective, P4P invites qualified and licensed training service providers to submit technical and financial proposals for the design and delivery of a structured, four-day, in-person MSD training program. The training is scheduled to take place from 30 November to 3 December 2026 and is expected to combine global MSD best practices with practical, livestock-sector-focused examples and case studies relevant to the Ethiopian context.
