ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The United Nations – World Food Programme (WFP) Ethiopian Medical Assistant Team (EMAT) Clinic operates as a primary healthcare facility dedicated to providing medical services to United Nations personnel, encompassing staff members, consultants, UN volunteers, and eligible dependents. Across its network of six clinics, situated both in Addis Ababa and field locations, the EMAT Clinic delivers emergency and primary healthcare services, as well as administering vaccinations to eligible staff and their family members. Within this framework, the Paramedic Nurse fulfills a critical role in the provision of first-line medical care, the support of clinic operations, and the effective response to medical emergencies.
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide high-quality, timely, and compassionate emergency and primary healthcare services, the Paramedic Nurse plays a critical role in assessing, stabilizing, and treating patients in both routine and life-threatening situations. Combining clinical nursing expertise with pre- hospital emergency care skills, the Paramedic Nurse ensures effective patient care across diverse environments, including clinics, field operations, and mobile response settings. The role supports the continuity of care, health promotion, and disaster response efforts, contributing to the overall safety, well-being, and resilience of the UN WFP employees and dependents served.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
