About the role
GAIN Ethiopia is seeking to recruit a Business Development & Partnerships Coordinator to support the development of new funded projects and programmes by identifying appropriate funders or funding opportunities, coordinating internal resources, developing high-quality proposals and providing advice to support GAIN’s country teams in Ethiopia in securing and stewarding new funding grants and contracts.
This role will be offered on an 18-month fixed term contract, subject to availability of funding and will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This advert closes on 24th July 2026. Key Responsibilities include.
- Coordinate bid processes to produce high-quality, competitive proposals.
- Establish and manage internal teams to design projects, often under tight timelines.
- Track all proposal components (narrative, budget, M&E plan, workplan) to ensure timely and high-quality submission.
- Scope and identify new donors and funding opportunities through partnerships, internal networks, and desk research.
- Act as the key contact for intelligence on funders, partners, and opportunities, ensuring information sharing with the global team.
- Work closely with Ethiopia country teams and technical experts on programme and proposal development.
- Contribute directly to writing, editing, and shaping project proposals.
- Ensure project design aligns with donor priorities, guidelines, and strategic objectives.
- Support development of proposal budgets in collaboration with finance teams and ensure feasibility.
- Define appropriate indicators to measure project progress and impact.
About you
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of identifying funding opportunities, developing competitive donor proposals, coordinating multi-disciplinary bid processes. Strong experience in project design, logical frameworks, results measurement, budgeting, donor compliance, and report writing is essential, together with the ability to align programme concepts with donor priorities and organisational strategy. Familiarity with enterprise development, Business Development Services (BDS), and SME support programmes will be an added advantage.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional proposal writing, analytical, organisational, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs. They should be an effective communicator and relationship builder, capable of collaborating with technical specialists, finance teams, country programme staff, and external partners to develop innovative and impactful programmes.

About our offer
The starting gross salary on offer for this role is from USD 14,904 -USD 17,040 gross per annum, depending on experience. Staff Benefits Summary
Working Conditions

Successful candidates will be based in one of GAIN’s country offices and must have the existing right to live and work within a reasonably commutable distance of the relevant city / cities in which the role is advertised.
