About the Company
Youth and Cultural Development Foundation (YCDF) is a non-profit organization established in 2013 by youth leaders and social entrepreneurs in Ethiopia. YCDF is dedicated in empowering young people through skills development, entrepreneurship, employment creation, and sustainable livelihood initiatives.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Contract Duration: One (1) year, with possible extensions based on performance and availability of grants/budget.
Duty station: Addis Ababa
Report to: Executive Director
Position Summary
The Management Analyst / Business Consultant provides strategic and technical support to strengthen organizational performance, improve operational efficiency, and enhance programme effectiveness. The position conducts organizational assessments, business and policy analysis, strategic planning, process improvement, and capacity-building initiatives. The role supports evidence-based decision-making and helps the organization achieve sustainable growth and impact.
Responsibilities
A. Organizational and Business Analysis
- Conduct organizational assessments and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze organizational structures, business processes, and operational systems.
- Develop recommendations to improve efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
- Support organizational restructuring and change management initiatives.
- Conduct market, policy, and institutional analyses to inform strategic decisions.
B. Strategic Planning and Organizational Development
- Facilitate the development and review of strategic plans, annual work plans, and operational plans.
- Develop organizational policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support the design and implementation of performance management systems.
- Promote innovation and continuous organizational improvement.
C. Project Development and Management
- Support the design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of development projects.
- Prepare project proposals, concept notes, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Monitor project performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate project reviews and lessons-learned exercises.
D. Research, Monitoring, and Reporting
- Conduct research, data analysis, and organizational studies.
- Develop analytical reports, policy briefs, and management reports.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities.
- Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
E. Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement
- Deliver training and technical assistance to staff and partners.
- Facilitate workshops on strategic planning, organizational development, and project management.
- Build and maintain relationships with government institutions, development partners, consultants, and private sector stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in technical meetings and consultations when required.
F. Business Development
- Identify funding and partnership opportunities.
- Support proposal development, resource mobilization, and donor engagement.
- Contribute to the development of innovative programmes and consulting services.
- Promote knowledge sharing and organizational learning.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree in business administration, Management, Economics, Public Administration, Organizational Development, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience at Analyst level.
- Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience at Consultant/Senior leadership level.
- Experience working with NGOs, consulting firms, government institutions, or international development organizations is highly desirable.
