About the Opportunity
As the company hires new entry-level colleagues to advise micro-enterprises across our locations of operations in East Africa, we often hire for cultural fit and need to build up team member skills to meet the needs of our clients.
Responsibilities
Assess the Company and Context (15% scope)
- Understand the current skill level of staff and the identification of skills gaps
- Review existing training materials – both content and delivery mechanism
- Understand the programs across all locations to understand how our staff would communicate and support our micro-clients.
Develop Course Flow, Structure, and Learner Journey (15% scope)
- Design a full Academy for Inkomoko’s advisors to micro and small businesses – include a variety of learning methods (e.g. readings, in-person sessions, videos, case studies, assignments etc.
- Revise the program modules flow to ensure relevant topics are covered in the series of sessions
- Develop the structure of the Academy and the learning journey of the Advisor including a platform where all content can be found and progress can be tracked.
Develop Curriculum and Content (70% scope)
- Revise existing content or develop fresh modules that instill knowledge and skills in staff
- Create any homework, handouts, reading, or additional documentation that would be needed to upskill staff.
- Record all teaching sessions/ trainings on the company’s Moodle platform which can be accessed by all BDA/BAs across locations
- Develop and load quizzes to test for comprehension and identify areas for further upskilling.
DELIVERABLES:
The scope of work will result in these deliverables for the company:
- Proposed course outline and content for sign off from Directors after assessment/ inception phase
- Full training course is developed and recorded on Moodle
- All BDA/BA staff in the company have been trained on the courses
- Final evaluation report is submitted with demonstrated grades of participants, and recommendations for further action.

REPORTING
The consultant would report to the Regional Director of Client Services and Director of People & Culture for this engagement, and would have access to other program colleagues (Program Director, Training Manager, etc.) to support and contextualize the work.
Minimum Qualifications
To do so, we are seeking a consultant with qualifications/experience in:
- Professional development and adult learning modules for staff in at a range of skill levels
- Entrepreneurship development programs as a content basis
- Curriculum development and delivery
- Ability to convey complex concepts in a simple and accessible way
- Individual or firm-level consultant who is able to work in East Africa and follow all local tax regulations
What You’ll Get
Inkomoko seeks consultants who can invoice on a total-project or day-rate. Inkomoko will also provide access to the company Moodle platform and will carry the responsibility of hard costs for the project implementation.
