Location: Baseline Study in Arsi-Negele and Sodo city, Ethiopia

Organization: Children Believe Fund

Deadline: March 10, 2025

Job Description

Background

For over 60 years, Children Believe has worked globally to support children and youth who dream of a better world. Toward this end, Children Believe has focused on dismantling institutional barriers that prevent access to inclusive and quality education for girls and boys. It has brought together diverse people and partnerships, driven by a common belief of valuing education as the most powerful resource for children to exercise agency and change their world.

Children Believe recognizes that local, regional and international contextual factors influence its operations and capacity to effect change in the lives of children. Children Believe’s new strategic plan focusing on four pathways aligned within five program priorities.

The new strategic plan and program priorities remain relevant to the future success of children and young people in our countries of operation. Our programmes have continued to support targeted communities, families, children and women enabling them to adapt to the new normal and build back better. We believe that access to inclusive and quality education is a fundamental human right for all children, requiring both sufficient resources and holistic approaches. Collective actions must be taken to remove a wide range of systemic challenges including political, economic, social, cultural, environmental, technological, and administrative and legislative barriers to education, particularly to girls’ education and the education of children who live under difficult circumstances. We value and champion diversity, promote equality, and ensure the inclusion of all children in our work.

This includes children with a disability, children living on the street, children on the move, those from indigenous families, refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), Dalit families, and children from families experiencing extreme economic deprivation. Children Believe will continue its work with empowered and engaged individuals and communities, and local civil society organizations; notably children, youth and women-led organizations and agencies.

Children Believe is seeking a qualified organization or individual to provide technical leadership and support during the baseline process, including tool preparation, selecting of additional data collectors in the grass root level, training of data collectors, conducting survey/collecting data/, data entry and quality control throughout the process. The data collector will not be required to develop reports.
