Job Description
The Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) is a national disability-based, non-governmental, and non-profit Civil Society Organization (CSO). ECDD is committed to promoting the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities through policy advocacy and the mainstreaming of disability inclusion in service delivery, development programs, humanitarian actions, and peace initiatives. Established in 2005, ECDD is dedicated to fostering an inclusive Ethiopia where persons with disabilities in all their diversities exercise their human rights and have access to mainstream services and opportunities on an equal basis with others.
Purpose of the Position
ECDD seeks to recruit a creative and motivated Volunteer/Intern Audio Visual Expert to support the production of high-quality multimedia content that strengthens the organization’s visibility, advocacy, knowledge management, and public engagement. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals seeking practical experience in multimedia production while contributing to disability inclusion and social impact. The successful candidate will document programs and events and transform stories, experiences, and project achievements into compelling visual content for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
The Audio Visual Expert will:
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of projects, events, workshops, trainings, and field activities.
- Produce documentaries, interviews, testimonials, success stories, and promotional videos.
- Plan, script, film, edit, and deliver professional multimedia products.
- Develop engaging content for ECDD’s website, social media platforms, and digital campaigns.
- Support programme teams in documenting project achievements and community impact.
- Ensure all multimedia products comply with ECDD branding guidelines and accessibility standards, including captions and inclusive communication practices.
- Organize and maintain a digital archive of photographs, videos, and multimedia resources.
- Collaborate with programme staff and external service providers to ensure timely production of communication materials.
- Apply innovative storytelling techniques that enhance ECDD’s advocacy and organizational visibility.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Experiences, Competencies and Skills
Education
- Diploma or Certificate or final-year study in Audio Visual Production, Film and Media Studies, Multimedia Production, Communication, or a related field.
- Additional training in photography, videography, animation, cinematography, or multimedia production is an advantage.
Professional Experience
- Recent graduates or candidates with up to two (2) years of relevant professional experience in audio visual production or multimedia communication.
- Demonstrated experience in photography, videography, video editing, documentary production, and digital storytelling.
- Experience producing multimedia content for websites and social media platforms through academic projects, freelance assignments, internships, volunteer work, or professional experience is desirable.
Technical Skills
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Other professional video editing software
Knowledge of photography, sound recording, motion graphics, and visual storytelling is desirable.
