Job Description

Reports to:	Manager, Inspection Department
Department/Service:	Inspection Department

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Under the general supervision of the Department Manager and in accordance with general policies, procedures and attained accreditations of the company and accepted national and international conformity assessment standards procedures and requirements for inspection, undertakes all types of sampling, inspection and impurity determination and grading activities; develops and implements inspection schedules; assigns and reviews inspection reports of junior inspectors; coaches and supports junior inspectors; adheres to pertinent national and international conformity assessment standards, procedures and requirements for inspection, particularly ISO/IEC 17020;participates in training, consulting, research and development activities;.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Undertakes non-highly complex types of sample taking and inspections for certification in accordance with general policies, procedures and attained accreditation of the company as well as national and international conformity assessment standards, procedures and requirements, particularly ISO/IEC 17020;
Develops sample taking and inspection schedules and ensures their efficient and timely implementation;
Assists in the design, documentation, implementation and maintenance of appropriate operating systems procedures, manuals, guidelines and instructions in accordance with national and international standards, procedure and requirements, particularly in compliance to ISO/IEC 17020;
Inspects food and food ingredients on the basis of food safety requirements, national and international standards and customer requirements; records and reports regulatory violation;
Selects and takes samples, ensures proper handling and disposal of samples, and undertakes impurity determination and grading activities;
Undertakes inspections of raw materials, processes, products, material handling and storages;
Reviews inspection reports of junior inspectors, including impurities determination and grading results and submits to the department manager with recommendation for decision making;
Coaches and provides technical support to junior inspectors;
Checks that conditions and scopes of accreditations and use of accreditation symbols are consistently adhered to and comes up with recommendation on courses of actions in cases of deviations;
Assists in the day-to-day coordination and execution of inspections, service contract administration, planning, liaising with clients, and processing inspection certifications;
Interacts with customer service and marketing units to obtain customer complaints, identifies root causes and comes up with recommendations on necessary corrective measures;
Participates in activities of promoting and marketing the services of the department;
Keeps abreast with latest national and international developments in conformity assessment and certification;
Participates in training, consulting, research and development activities of the company; and
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Department Manager.

About You

JOB REQUIREMENT:
Education:	BSc in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology or related
Experience:	2 years of relevant experience
