We Organic liquid fertilizer-producing PLC are seeking a knowledgeable Agronomist to optimize crop production, liquid fertilizer production, improve soil health for demonstration farms, and implement sustainable farming practices. You will provide research-based recommendations on planting, fertilization, pest management, and irrigation to maximize yield and quality while minimizing environmental impact.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
· 2+ years of field experience in row crop, specialty crop, or feed production
Certifications (preferred)
Technical Skills
· Proficiency with ERP
· Knowledge of local growing conditions, pests, and regulations
· Familiarity with farm equipment and variable-rate technology
Core Competencies & Skills:
Crop & Soil Management
· Develop and oversee crop plans (rotation, variety selection, planting schedules)
· Conduct soil sampling and analysis; recommend amendments (lime, fertilizers, organic matter)
· Monitor crop health through field scouting and remote sensing
Nutrient & Water Management
· Design variable-rate fertilization and irrigation strategies
· Implement precision agriculture tools (GPS, GIS, yield monitors)
· Manage nutrient application to comply with environmental regulations
Pest & Disease Control
· Identify weeds, insects, and diseases; recommend integrated pest management (IPM) solutions
· Oversee safe application of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides (recordkeeping compliance)
Data Analysis & Reporting
· Analyze yield data, weather patterns, and soil reports to guide decisions
· Prepare monthly reports on crop status, input (organic liquid fertilizer) usage, and budget adherence
Research & Sustainability
· Conduct on-farm trials (seed varieties, organic liquid fertilizer rates, cover crops)
· Promote conservation practices (no-till, cover cropping, buffer strips)
